I recall this as a very interesting discussion and a good follow on from my own thoughts with Terence’s unique perspective.

Terry made an excellent observation about Smoke on Mac. The RT performance is pretty poor, render render render. Yes I know the strength of the Smoke compositor but we’re not that far away with Fcpx and M5 but in RT.
A good working knowledge of Motion and Conduit you’ve really got a very powerful RT nodal compositor which you can publish templates too. If Apple brought back roundtripping perhaps sending back to FCPX a compound clip from M5 would answer most people’s needs.
I can see a future where FCPX encroaches on Smoke broadcast promo market and I don’t believe it’s far fetched.
